The Assessing school students online course is designed to provide English teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively integrate assessment in their classrooms in an alignment with the 2018 English curriculum; addressing current research and theory related to assessing students, analyzing good assessment practices, and applying the effective assessment techniques into teachers’ own school contexts. It also focuses on helping English teachers improve their student autonomy in learning in order to achieve the learning outcomes set out by the general education curriculum 2018, as well as throughout their lifelong learning.
This self-paced course consists of nine one-week modules, which are anchored by reading texts, short video tutorials and quizzes, and are supplemented with tasks and additional support materials with approximately 10 hours for teachers to complete. The sequence of each model follows PALMS (Plan – Activate – Learn – Master – Supplement) model, which is summarized as follows

Open Educational Resources (OERs) as defined by the United Nations are any type of educational materials that are in the public domain or introduced with an open license.
